Steiner was founded in Germany in 1947 by Karl Steiner. His goal was to manufacture optics so high in quality that other manufacturers wouldn’t be able to compete with it. After 6 years in business, Steiner already employed 50 people, which shows that Karl was well-acquainted with the market’s demands. The company manufactured binoculars at first but expanded their offer as the time went by, adding riflescopes to their selection of products. Steiner is famous for many innovations in the field of optics – they were the first ones to introduce nitrogen-filled binoculars, preventing the annoying internal fogging at low temperatures. Binoculars equipped with a compass is also their invention. Today, Steiner is one of the biggest manufacturers of binoculars with Porro prisms and a major player in the marine binoculars industry. Steiner has some of its production facilities in America where they manufacture optical devices adjusted to the demands of the American market. We have been selling Steiner products in our store since 2012. In 2019, we signed a distribution agreement.
